Glasgow and round trip to Highlands and Loch Ness

Beginning of this year me and my girlfriend have made a trip to Scotland for the first time. It was only 2 day trip and we planned to visit Glasgow and Edinburgh.

We took an early flight from Bristol to Glasgow via Easyjet and it took only about 70 min of the flight time to reach our destination. It was middle of Fabruary, St. Valentine’s day to be exact and it was nice mild sunny morning here in Glasgow airport.

After luggage claim we rush to catch an airport shuffel bus to city centre. It wasn’t difficult to find our accommodation and we were also lucky as our room was ready for us even it was just around 9 a.m.  After guick shower and a pot of coffiee we went out to discover the beauty of the Glasgow.

In the late afternoon we made some small changes in our plan for the next day. Instead of going to Edinburgh we have decided to book a round trip to Highlands with Urquhart castle and boat trip in Loch Ness.

Next day morning the mini van was waiting to take us for a very long bus ride lasting around 13 hours long.

It was very nice and well spend 2 days and deffinately comming back soon to discover new places in Scotland.

My thoughts and first expression about England in general

A few years back, when I were coming to England for a work experience from Czech Republic, I was so excited to discover such a beautiful country with a such great history just by itself.

Unfortunately a several things I have been experiencing with and many and many different stuff I found out completely unpractical and nonsense giving.

I know maybe I am just a “stupid” (excuse my language)  foreign guy from Easter Europe, who just stealing jobs from the English citizens and who is not welcome in this country, how I often heard from many people. Sadly from many unemployed or from the kind of people who not willing to do anything what is under their dignity. But that’s all different story.

Let’s start with the simple thing I have register in my very first day at work and I think that many people who working in the hospitality  would agree with me on this, but why the people in England who are asked a simple question: “Would you like tea or coffee?”, would answer “Yes, please” in large numbers? Is it really so difficult to specify? We are not a mind readers, otherwise we won’t ask at all if we knew what you fancy.

And what about dressing up for the night out? I understand that people like to show up in the best they’ve got in the cupboard, but why are so many young people so irresponsible to wear a mini-skirts or a t-shirts when is only a couple of degrees’ above zero? Own image must be just stronger than a clear mind. But maybe is just a habit from their childhood, when they parents were walking around the town with them in the baby carrier without socks and any warm cloths. Sadly I see this more and more often now when the mother of the child is clothed with warm jacket and a hat and the baby  without any shoes not even with a socks. This is just not right isn’t it?

Have you ever had to go to toilet in the airport or train station with the luggage into the cabin and had a real problems to even close the door behind you? Why in England has to be everything the other side? The door opening in, instead out and not giving any more space when you need. Why all the window in the houses are opening in up-right positions, or when they are opening side-way, why are always opening out when you cannot reach the other side of the glass? How are we supposed to clean the windows? The builders must to be paid some large commissions from the window cleaners otherwise just doesn’t make sense to me at all.

All of these and many more can be easily improved just to change the way how it is. Wouldn’t be the life in England much easier and more comfortable than is now?

It’s just a few small details I have find out to be different from the other European countries.

This is just something I really had to share about, because would like to see if somebody agree with me or not.

Please comment and share what you thing.
